As a mom to a toddler and a preschooler, I am always on the lookout for new products that can help make our lives just a little bit easier. In particular, mealtime is an area where I am always searching for some extra help with.

Battling with my independent toddler over spoon feeding her yogurt every morning had become an everyday occurrence. Due to London’s independent nature, she started refusing being spoon-fed by mommy several months ago. So, I have let her spoon feed herself from a younger age than I did with her older brother. Only problem is – half way through she gets frustrated with the spoon and it usually results in her throwing her yogurt container off the side of her highchair. Not the ideal breakfast experience when we are trying to rush out the door to school in the morning.

A few months ago while browsing Instagram, I stumbled upon the NumNum Pre-Spoon GOOtensil. After reading a bit more about this innovative self-feeding product, I was incredibly intrigued!

NumNum GOOtensil Review

The Pre-Spoon GOOtensil is easier than a spoon, because there’s no wrong way to hold it. A baby or toddler can simply “dip” their GOOtensil into their yogurt (or oatmeal) and start feeding themselves right away – no help from mama required! Genius, right?! The idea behind this product is that it reduces frustration and promotes independence in your child.

NumNum offers a set of two Pre-Spoons – Stage One, for thinner purees + Stage Two, for thicker purees. The Stage One Pre-Spoon can be used as early as 6 months, which makes this product even more amazing! Once your child has got the hang of self-feeding and has moved onto thicker purees, they are ready for Stage Two. The spoons are dishwasher safe, and are made with hypoallergenic FDA-grade TPE and Polypropylene.

NumNum GOOtensil Review

Since I just so happen to have a very independent toddler who is working on her self-feeding skills, NumNum was kind enough to send us a set of their Pre-Spoons for London & I to review. Upon London’s 1st experience with the Stage Two Pre-Spoon, she was able to feed herself her entire container of yogurt with incredible ease. There was no throwing of the yogurt off the side of her highchair and no crying out of frustration. After seeing that, I was an instant believer in this product!

We have been using this product almost daily for about a month now, and we absolutely love it! While London can use a spoon to feed herself, she does much better with her “NumNum Spoon”, as she calls it.

Head on over to the NumNum website to learn more about their entire line of feeding products. They can also be found on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!

{Disclosure :: The NumNum GOOtensil set was gifted to us, but all opinions are 100% my own. We love our “NumNum spoons” and think you will, too!}
