My husband and I have always been over-achievers and the known planners in our circle of friends. Prior to our sweet babe’s arrival, we had spreadsheets comparing brands and prices. We made lists of things we had to do to the nursery or purchase before our little bundle of joy joined us. Yes, the lists were even color coded and each task had a deadline assigned to it.

One of the purchases we were most happy with was the Britax B-Agile 3 and B-Safe 35 travel system. Though the car seat is available for purchase on its own (and it comes with a car base) the price point of the travel system together was unbeatable!

The best advice I ever got for purchasing a stroller was this: “Imagine yourself trying to put the baby and the stroller in the car by yourself in the rain.” One of the reasons we ultimately purchased this set was because the car seat easily clicks in and out of its base, and the stroller is lightweight and easy and quick to close. As a mama with a sensitive back, this system made sense for me because the car seat by itself is only 10 pounds and lifting the stroller by myself has been manageable – even throughout times of varying back pain over the past year.

One fun reason we purchased this set was that it came in all black – which matches our family style perfectly! For those who like a pop of color, it comes with a variety of options, as well.

We have some friends with a baby about 5 months older than our son and they had also chosen this travel system. We interviewed them and they only had great things to say about it! After testing some other brands in person at a baby store alongside this one, this system made the most sense for our family.

A final reason we chose this purchase was the price point. For the price of some “fancier” brand car seat we got both the Britax car seat and stroller. Yes, you read that correctly! Some of the top brands price points on just a car seat matched the cost of the Britax car seat, base, and stroller set. When you are overwhelmed with all the things you need for a baby, having something that protects your baby but is still in a realistic budget is such a find!

When our baby was about 6-months-old Britax sent us a reinforcement for the handle of our car seat. There had been an issue with one set of car seats from the manufacturer and even though our car seat was not among them they sent reinforcement as a courtesy. I thought this was very professional of the company and showed how much they care for our child’s safety. I am so glad we registered our products so the company could easily contact us.

Now, 13 months into this journey of parenting, we’re still using our Britax B-Agile and B-Safe system. The car seat accommodates a toddler up to 35 pounds so this budget-friendly necessity is fully worth the investment because it will last a long time. The straps got tangled one time in the beginning and it took me a short YouTube video to help me figure out how to fix it. The harness system has multiple adjustment options to custom fit and grow with your child’s height. We love that we can easily click it into the accompanying base in our car, or it can be safely secured with just a seatbelt when he rides with his grandparents. Additional bases are available for purchase by themselves for around $80. I would recommend this for the sake of ease if the baby is to ride in multiple vehicles often.

The car seat also easily clicks into (and out of) the B-Agile stroller. The travel system comes with clips that the seat fits into perfectly. Once our son outgrows the car seat the clips can simply be removed and the stroller can continue to be used “big kid style.” Thankfully, we haven’t had any crazy messes so far, but it is easy to clean since the material is not easily absorbent and can be gently wiped down. Overall, I only have great things to say about this entire travel system, and I have no regrets!

NOTE: You may have heard about the recent Britax Click & Go Recall, which involves Click & Go receiver mounts on Britax B-Agile and BOB Motion strollers being used in travel system mode. For more information regarding this recall, please visit the Britax website.
