As a mom to a toddler and a preschooler, I am always on the lookout for new products that can help make our lives just a little bit easier. In particular, mealtime is an area where I am always searching for some extra help with.
Battling with my independent toddler over spoon feeding her yogurt every morning had become an everyday occurrence. Due to London’s independent nature, she started refusing being spoon-fed by mommy several months ago. So, I have let her spoon feed herself from a younger age than I did with her older brother. Only problem is – half way through she gets frustrated with the spoon and it usually results in her throwing her yogurt container off the side of [...]
Bath time at our house just got a whole lot sweeter. Up until now, I had never taken a bath with Ros. I know, I’m such an unloving mom. I guess for me, bathing and sleeping are things I just don’t like to do with company.
But lately Ros has been seriously screaming, crying, and frantically trying to escape the bathtub when she sees me get the cup and tell her it’s time to wash her hair. I thought that getting in the tub with her might help ease any fear she has. It may have helped a little, but I think she was mostly confused about why I was in there with her LOL. We still had fun!!
So if anyone has tips on making hair washing an easier experience for [...]
I love this Princess Mommy Stroll-Along Musical Walker for my little girl. It is one of those toys that she can “grow into” and it is useful for more than one stage of her development! This walker is great for any little girl age 9 months and up. The site says 9-36 months, but she might even play with it longer than that.
We got this when our daughter was around 9 months old. She was already standing up while holding onto something. We noticed that she was starting to try and push things around, which meant she was learning to WALK! I remember seeing her do this and telling Alex we needed to [...]
This is a product I really wish I had known about when my son was a baby. The receiving blankets I had for him were decent, but they were not big enough to use for swaddling and the fabric quality was questionable. Seriously, don’t let yourself be fooled like I was by thinking that all swaddle blankets are created equally. They’re not! I remember hearing about the aden + anais Classic Muslin Swaddles and wondered what all the hype was about. Well now, after purchasing my first set for my daughter, I know!
Each swaddle is made out of 100% cotton muslin and they are pre-washed. The fabric is extremely soft and frequent washing does not compromise the quality. No need to worry [...]
In my shopping for a baby carrier, I knew it had to meet my standards for style and healthy positioning of my baby’s legs to avoid hip dysplasia. I ultimately decided on a BabyHawk Mei Tai carrier, but when it arrived, my hubby was less than impressed. So we immediately set out to find one that he would also enjoy using. That lead us to the Infantino Fusion carrier. This is a more modern working of a baby carrier, similar in scope to an Ergobaby that everyone on every other mommy message board seems to love, BUT, a much better value for our budget. Clocking in at only $39.99, this carrier is one of the better valued pieces of baby equipment we’ve found and we receive lots of [...]
Honestly, one of my favorite things to do is wear my baby. Not only does it allow me to have him close to me, for both of our comfort these days, it also allows me to get other things done around the house.
Before I invested in a carrier, I did some research to find out what the best positions were for RJ as he grew and there is a lot to read out there about which ones are best to prevent hip dysplasia and support an infant’s neck and trunk. I’m no doctor, so I won’t pretend like I can rehash the science of it all. You can check it out for yourself here.
The main factors I considered when choosing my carrier were support for RJ, value over time (would it grow with [...]
