I recently took Chase to the movie theater for his first movie. Overall, he did a great job, especially considering that he’s only two years old. I learned a few things and I thought I’d share them with you. Here are some tips that you may find helpful for when you take your child to their first movie.
1. Arrive late. Yes, you heard me correctly! Don’t go into the theater until after the previews have ended. If you want to make it easy, just ask the theater how long the previews last. They should be able to tell you. Little ones can only sit for so long and skipping the previews is a good way to cut some time off.
2. Try to sit on the end of the aisle if [...]
I love taking the kids outside during the summer since we spend so much time indoors during the long Minnesota winters. We often go to a park, splash pad, or beach to play and with two kids under the age of two and a half I wanted to find a blanket that would work well for our various outings. After doing some research I stumbled upon the JJ Cole Outdoor Blanket. This blanket has become one of my favorite summer products and I’m excited to share my thoughts with you!
The JJ Cole Outdoor Mat is a must-have for all moms who spend time outside with little ones. I use my blanket multiple times each week during the summer. One of my favorite features of this blanket is that [...]
My son was introduced to swimming when he was 6 months old and even though he was pretty good at back floating I wanted to find something that he could sit up in while in the pool. Hands down this is my favorite pool toy for little ones who are just starting out in the pool! Funny thing is that he thought this was the best pool toy too! The SwimWays Baby Spring Float is designed for use for kids from 9 to 24 months. My little guy was a bit younger than 9 months when he first used this float and he did just fine.
This swim float and canopy can quickly fold up and comes in a handy carrying tote. A little practice is required to deflate and store, but once you get it down [...]
We live near a beautiful lake that is within walking distance to our home. Our wakesurfing boat is kept on the lake and now that our daughter is old enough to safely ride along in the boat we are trying to spend more time enjoying the water. All the other moms out there are likely to agree with me when I state the obvious: getting kids in and out of car seats can be a real chore. It’s much easier for us to walk to the lake with the kids and our puppy than it is to try to get everything loaded up into the car for a 2-minute car ride. We usually take snacks, water bottles, towels, life jackets, and other necessities such as diapers and wipes. The kids ride along in our double stroller, [...]
This past April my family vacationed in Marco Island, Florida. We stayed in a vacation rental that had a private pool and my two year-old son could not wait to go swimming. As I was getting all of his stuff for the pool ready I realized that the water wings I brought from home were never going to work, as they were way too big for my little guy’s skinny arms. My in-laws rented some baby gear from a local store and when they realized that the water wings were a no-go they asked the store if they had any pool noodles or floatables that we could rent. When the gentleman from the store arrived with the other gear he had a Stearns Puddle Jumper Life Jacket in hand. I had no idea that he [...]
