Bath time at our house just got a whole lot sweeter. Up until now, I had never taken a bath with Ros. I know, I’m such an unloving mom. I guess for me, bathing and sleeping are things I just don’t like to do with company.
But lately Ros has been seriously screaming, crying, and frantically trying to escape the bathtub when she sees me get the cup and tell her it’s time to wash her hair. I thought that getting in the tub with her might help ease any fear she has. It may have helped a little, but I think she was mostly confused about why I was in there with her LOL. We still had fun!!
So if anyone has tips on making hair washing an easier experience for [...]
Once my son transitioned from his baby bathtub to the regular bathtub I quickly realized that I needed to remove the drain because he would try to put it in his mouth. Seriously, I couldn’t believe he would get on his tummy so that he could get in the best position to go after the drain. Besides being gross, it also didn’t seem very safe to me! I quickly realized that the drain had to go and that I needed to find something that would safely and effectively hold water in the tub. I did a little research and found the OXO Tot Silicone Tub Drain Stopper.
Let’s start out by talking about materials. This nifty little item is made out of stainless steel and silicone and is very soft [...]
When my son became old enough to transition from his baby bathtub to the regular bathtub I was very concerned about safety. I wanted to make sure that I had the tub environment set up in a way that would be as safe as possible. One of the first things I noticed was the large metal faucet. It’s hard not to imagine the damage that this faucet could do to a little one. Immediately I realized that this could be quite dangerous, especially with all of the fun and playing that goes on, and I set out to find a product to cover the faucet.
It did not take me very long to find exactly what I was looking for. The Skip Hop Bath Spout Cover is a great addition to any bathtub that is going [...]
Did you know that your skin is the largest organ in your body? What goes in your body is just as important as what goes on your body. As someone who pays close attention to what skincare products I put on my own body, it’s no surprise that I am even more cautious about what I put on my children.
Shortly after becoming pregnant with my first born, I began to research baby skincare products. When I started researching what was actually in some of the popular baby skincare options on the market, I was quite startled. You want me to put WHAT on my newborn baby’s skin?! Formaldehyde? Parabens? Phthalates? I don’t think so!
Since becoming a mom, I have turned into an [...]
Once my son outgrew his baby bathtub it was time to transition him to the regular bathtub. While this was an exciting milestone for him, I was pretty nervous about him slipping on the floor of the tub. As he became more mobile he would stand up while holding on to the side of the tub. He would then purposely fall back onto his bottom to perform a “splashdown.” Sure, this was fun and exciting for him, but I found myself envisioning all the things that could go wrong if he slipped. (Since I used to work in orthopedics I think it’s safe to say that I tend to be overly cautious due to the plethora of accidents I’ve seen!) I wanted him to enjoy playing in the bath, but at the same time [...]
When my son was old enough to start playing with toys during his bath I quickly realized that I needed a way to store the zillions of toys while at the same time wanted to make sure they were easily accessible. That’s when I found this awesome product! The Boon Whale Pod Bath Toy Scoop, Drain, and Storage has been a nice addition to my kids’ bathtub.
Boon constructed the Whale Pod out of very safe materials, as it is BPA, PVC, and Phthalate-free. They also put some thought into the design of this product, as it helps to reduce mold and mildew buildup on the toys that are placed inside the scoop. I just checked our Whale Pod and there are absolutely no signs of mold or mildew [...]
