As a mom to a toddler and a preschooler, I am always on the lookout for new products that can help make our lives just a little bit easier. In particular, mealtime is an area where I am always searching for some extra help with.
Battling with my independent toddler over spoon feeding her yogurt every morning had become an everyday occurrence. Due to London’s independent nature, she started refusing being spoon-fed by mommy several months ago. So, I have let her spoon feed herself from a younger age than I did with her older brother. Only problem is – half way through she gets frustrated with the spoon and it usually results in her throwing her yogurt container off the side of [...]
Where are all my mamas of picky little eaters?! I, for one, am raising my hand way up in the air! My oldest, Noah (3.5 yrs old), is as picky as they come. Would you believe me if I said he’s never eaten an actual blueberry before?! Or that he’s never eaten more than about 3 vegetables his entire life?! If it can be found in the produce section of the grocery store, chances are he doesn’t eat it. I should probably clarify a bit because he has eaten plenty of fruit + veggie baby food back in the day. Since becoming a preschooler, he does drink the occasional smoothie (with hidden veggies), and will also snack on a variety of toddler/big kid fruit pouches. But, when it comes to fruit + [...]
Now that my toddler is a 1 year-old, we’re more keen to snacking on-the-go instead of stopping to nurse whenever he gets a little hungry. I used recycled baby food jars and other small containers for awhile, until I realized that this wasn’t doing anything for his independence, and he let that be known. When I’d give him a puff or garbanzo bean, he would toss it until he could grab one by himself. Many times, this resulted in him grabbing handfuls out of whatever receptacle I was using and trying to stuff them all in his mouth at once.
Then, a fateful Babies ‘R’ Us trip changed our lives…or so I thought. I stumbled upon Munchkin’s [...]
As a first time mother the idea of breast-feeding was a great unknown for me. I knew that I wanted to breastfeed, but I was unsure of what the concept of breastfeeding and pumping milk was about. Through research online I found that my insurance company covered the purchase of a breast pump. Having zero clue on what to choose as my pump, I began to research Google. I found that Medela was a highly recommended pump, by both mothers and health care providers. The Medela pump that I chose was the Pump In Style Advanced Breast Pump.
I have to say I highly recommend this breast pump. The pump itself is small and comes in a black carry pouch with a Velcro lid and a handle for easy [...]
My family is always on the go! We enjoy traveling and haven’t let having kids slow us down. In fact, my husband and I figured that it might be good for them to get used to our active lifestyle. With all the airplane travel that I do I knew that needed to find something to make transporting bottles easier. The Skip Hop Grab and Go Double Bottle Bag is a great product to consider for moms who are planning to spend a day away from home or for those moms who are going to travel with their little ones. I’ve even heard that moms who pump while away from home have found this bag useful for transporting their breastmilk.
I have used this bag on numerous trips and have been very [...]
Even before my son was born I researched bibs. Yes, you heard me right. I’m that crazy mama who wanted to be prepared well in advance of my little one eating solids. After all, you never know what day you may wake up and need one, right? I have always been a bit type A when it comes to taking care of my clothes, so I guess it comes as no big surprise that I want to do whatever I can to keep my kids’ clothes as clean as possible.
After reading a number of very positive product reviews, I purchased the BabyBjörn Soft Bib, as it had very high ratings on Amazon. Right away I found that my son was able to pull the bib off. It has an adjustable snap that he was easily [...]
